End-of-Tenancy Cleaning Checklist | Britco Cleaning
Use this checklist to plan a clean before handing back a rented property. Requirements differ between tenancy agreements and inventories, so check your own documents and confirm priorities with your landlord or agent.

Before you start
Remove personal belongings, arrange access to the property and check which items or appliances need to remain. Photograph the property's condition for your own records if useful.
Kitchen
Wipe worktops and cupboard exteriors, clean the sink and taps, degrease accessible surfaces, clean appliance exteriors and sweep or mop the floor. Clean inside appliances only if required and agreed.
Bathrooms
Clean the toilet, basin, bath or shower, taps, mirrors and accessible tiles. Remove loose dust and clean the floor, taking care with the surface and products used.
Bedrooms and living areas
Dust accessible surfaces, wipe marks where suitable, clean inside empty storage only if required, vacuum carpets and clean hard floors. Check corners, skirting and window sills.
Final check
Remove rubbish, check each room against the landlord or agent's written requirements, and leave the property secure. Cleaning does not guarantee a deposit refund or a pass on an inventory inspection.
